Warri-Wolves-Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) runner-ups Warri Wolves have been kicked out of the CAF Champions League following their 1-0 defeat to El Merreikh on Saturday evening.

The Seasiders travelled to Sudan with a mountain to climb after their 1-0 home defeat in the first leg but were unable to curtail the rampaging El-Merreikh who got a 1-0 victory to qualify (2-0) on aggregate to the competition’s next round.

It was a similar sad story for Nasarawa United as they were thrown out of the CAF Confederation Cup by CS Constantine.

The Solid Miners failed to hold on their first leg advantage as they fell 4-1 against the Algerians who were inspired by a brace from 34-year-old Yacine Bezzaz, with Bature Yaro’s strike coming as a mere consolation.

Earlier on Saturday, Enyimba confirmed their place in the Caf Champions League second round after a 2-1 loss to AS Vital’O in Burundi saw them edge 6-2 aggregate, and they will now face Tunisian giants Etoile du Sahel for a ticket to the group phase.
