Trey Songz Faces Backlash After Revealing He Gave $50 to a Kenyan Child Beggar
The drama started hours ago after the American singer, who is in Kenya for the new season of Coke Studio, revealed that while walking the streets of Nairobi, he met a child street beggar holding up a cup, asking for alms.
Touched by the image of the boy begging for alms, Trey Songz gave the child the equivalent of $50, posed for a photo with the child, and posted same on his Instagram.
“Something about how big and beautiful his spirit was, while holding an empty cup put a lot of things in perspective for me,” the singer said, adding, “[I’m]overwhelmed with gratitude in these moments. Love my people so much.”

This little dude was alone with his empty cup in busy downtown Nairobi and he just looked at me and smiled as we were walking. I gave him the equivalent of like 50 dollars. Then I asked him if I could take a picture with him. Something about how big and beautiful his spirit was, while holding an empty cup put a lot of things in perspective for me. Overwhelmed with gratitude in these moments. Love my people so much 📷: @meldcole
While many applauded his kindness to the child, some other have accused him of exploiting the child for social media gains.
Upset by the negative reactions, Trey Songz clapped back at a few people, stating that he has a foundation that feeds the needy, plus he gave out $50 to every beggar he met on the streets of Nairobi yesterday.

Do you think Trey was bragging about giving the boy alms? Could he possibly have gotten the boy off the streets? To Receive Latest Music, Video & News Updates , Add Us To Your WhatsApp: 08035927807; BBM Pin: D1C43241
