According to Ani, the Commission has also instructed the Inspector General of Police to provide it with information on new developments in the case so that it can take appropriate action.
He said the Commission’s decision was communicated to the Inspector General of Police today, Sunday, August 1st, 2021, in a letter with reference, PSC/POL/D/153/vol/V/138, signed by Hon. Justice Clara Bata Ogunbiyi, a retired Supreme Court Justice and Honourable Commissioner 1 in the Commission for the Commission’s Chairman, Alhaji Musiliu Smith, a retired Inspector General of Police.
Recall that the Nigerian Inspector General of Police (IGP) recommended the immediate suspension of super cop Abba Kyari over his involvement in Hushpuppi’s fraud saga.
FBI lately accused the super cop Abba Kyari of taking a bribe from Hushpuppi to arrest an accomplice of his in Nigeria but has claimed the money he sent to him was for a native attire he saw on his page and asked him to sow some for him.
Some Nigerians called on the police force to do something about the allegations leveled against Abba Kyari by the FBI and the IGP’s recommendation has been approved by the Police Commission.
