#NGASLE: Sierra Leone pull off amazing comeback from 4-0 down against Super Eagles

Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Friday surrendered a four-goal lead to draw with Sierra Leone in a Nation’s Cup qualifier at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin, Edo State.

The Eagles we’re leading comfortably by 4-1 in the first half, only for them to capitulate in the second half, conceding three goals at home to tie to match at 4-4.

It was a shocking and unbelieving result.

Before 40 minutes in the first half, the Super Eagles were already leading by 4-0, but the minor Leone Stars fought back to the amazement and disappointment of all fans.

The match at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin, Edo State saw the Super Eagles opening scoring through Alex Iwobi on five minutes.

Napoli star, Victor Osimhen made it 2-0 for Nigeria on 22 minutes of play in the first half.

Iwobi got his brace to make it 3-0 for the Eagles on 28 minutes.

Samuel Chukwueze scored on 31 minutes to make it 4-0 for the Eagles.

Sierra Leone pulled one back on 43 minutes through Kamara go make it 4-1.

The visitor made it 4-2 on 72 minutes in the second half through Kamara A. and quickly added another goal on 80 minutes, through Bundu M.

The Leone Stars compounded Nigeria’s woes when they got their fourth goal on 86 minutes through Kamara to silent the few spectators at the stadium.

It was a bad day for Nigeria.

The Eagles will now have to beat Sierra Leone in the return leg on Tuesday to brighten hope of early qualification.
