One person was set ablaze and two others rescued by the Police after another suspected ritualists’ den was discovered at the Challenge area of Mushin, Lagos State.

Items recovered from suspects include two smart phones, four Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards and about I00 syringes allegedly containing blood.

The ritualists’ plan came unstuck when one of them was spotted dragging a female victim into a tunnel at Challenge bus stop, Sun writes.

According to an eyewitness, Sunday Ogunjobi, some people raised the alarm and the victim was rescued while the suspect, who dressed like a mad woman, was arrested

We observed that the suspect’s shirt was stained with blood and when he could not provide satisfactory answers to question on where he was taking the victim to and where he got the ATM and syringes, the mob descended on him and lynched him,” Ogunjobi said.

He attempted to run into the tunnel which was later discovered to be the gang’s den but was caught and he confessed that other members of his gang were still inside the tunnel.

During a search of the tunnel, over 100 syringes with some stained with blood were recovered. We have been seeing one of them around this vicinity for a while. We thought she was a mad woman. But what baffles us is that she will disappear for a while and reappear again. Before we knew it, two others had joined her.

“At some time, they would be up to five lunatics sitting at the edge of the tunnel. It was not until today that we discovered that the mad woman was not mad at all and that she is not a woman as we thought. When we started beating the suspect, we discovered he was a man not a woman.”

A member of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) rescue team, simply identified as Wasiu, said the ritualists’ tunnel links other parts of Lagos like another world of its own
