Happening Now In LAUTECH: Parents protest over school shutdown (photos)
Collision of parents of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology and Ogbomoso indigenes have taken to street to protest the long shut down of the institution.
Placards carrying parents, especially those of Ogbomoso, Oyo State indigenes stormed the Senate building of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology earlier today to pour our their grievances over the shut. They demand the Oyo State government take over of LAUTECH, calling for the evacuation of all students from Osun State origin.
According to the protester, the protest was used to pass message across to the institution’s Vice Chancellor, visiting Governors and other stakeholders.
“Oyo State owned LAUTECH, we demand the take over of the institution, since the Osun State Government has failed it woefully. We are bittered over the unnecessary shut down of LAUTECH. We urge the vice chancellor not to sell out Lautech to Osun” one of the protester, who spoke to us on anonymity said.
Recalled that the Ladoke Akintola University students have been sent home on mid-semester break since June, over non payment of lecturers and other workers salaries.
