British comedian Michael Dapaah recently dropped the official audio and video to his viral video “Man’s Not Hot“. It is his first single released under the name Big Shaq. It samples “Let’s Lurk” by 67 featuring Giggs. The song has seen commercial success, peaking at number 11 in the United Kingdom. The music video has also garnered over 45 million views on YouTube. Wow

If you are a bit confused, don’t fret. We will explain how it all happened….
On 29 August 2017, Michael Dapaah went on BBC Radio 1Xtra as both his characters MC Quakez and Roadman Shaq for the Charlie Sloth-hosted “Fire in the Booth” segment. His freestyle on the instrumental of 67 and Giggs‘ 2016 track “Let’s Lurk” went viral on the internet, gaining millions of views on YouTube and resulting in the creation of many internet memes. In response to the unprecedented popularity, Michael Dapaah changed his character’s name to “Big Shaq“, and converted his freestyle into a commercial single called “Man’s Not Hot”, released on Island Records. The song was released on 22 September 2017.
So that’s how it all came about… Now everyone knows the line “and the tin goes skrrrrrrr”
